GOLF GAFFORE

A match is never quite in the bag if you are playing Golf Gaffore - someone could spring a surprise at any time. Each player is handed either one or two cards before the start of the round which they are allowed to use at any stage during the match. They keep the details of this card a closely guarded secret until such time as they decide to issue them.

The cards vary from a “Get out of bunker free” card which allows someone to pick the ball out of the bunker and throw it onto the green, to “That’s my ball” which permits a player who has just driven into the woods to swap balls with someone who has just hit one down the middle of the fairway.

If you’ve never tried to play a shot blindfolded or used a putter off the tee then you are in for a surprise and a laugh. Don’t get too complacent about the card in your pocket though as the joke could soon be on you - beware the “Mirror Card”, the best card in the pack, which allows the recipient of the card to reverse the command.
